Air ambulance takes man to hospital after cliff fall in Westcliff, Ramsgate

A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a cliff.

An air ambulance, paramedics and police were called to the incident in the Royal Esplanade area of Westcliff, Ramsgate , today.

The chopper was seen landing near Westcliff Promenade at about 1.45pm.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "I can confirm we were called to the junction of Heingst Way and the A299 at approximately 1pm today to reports of a fall.

"Ambulance crews attended the scene and were joined by the air ambulance service.

"The patient was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London with serious injuries."

Police arrived at about 1.10pm and officers remain at the scene.
