Sheerness Boxing Club’s season finished on a high with the opening of a new gym.

Carrying out the honours was top boxer Kevin Mitchell, otherwise known as The Dagenham Destroyer.

Mr Mitchell, who is currently the 27 bout undefeated Super Featherweight British and Commonwealth Champion, visited the gym which is now based at The Gateway community centre, Rushenden Road, Rushenden. It was formerly in The Treadmill, Railway Road, Sheerness.

Spokesman Rich Hoggins said: “This season has been a strong one for the club with with John Brazil, Josh Brum, Jake Montella, Aaron Kean, Dan Tingley, Sam Latham and Warren Edwards all winning on their debut bouts."
