Strood: Virgin Media customers in the ME2 area have been left without broadband for nearly two days

People in Strood are 'losing their minds' after being left without broadband for more than 36 hours.

Virgin Media customers from the ME2 area of Strood have had no TV or WiFi since about 5pm on Friday.

It is believed the lack of broadband was caused by a utility company accidentally cutting through Virgin's main cable.

Many customers have taken to social media to complain, some using the hashtag, #superslow, on Twitter.

Richard Felton, of Old Watling Street, Strood, was so frustrated he decided to switch his broadband to Sky.

He said: "Virgin Media is cut off in most of Strood on Friday night.

"They have been very difficult in dealing with complaints.

"I've had no real information on when services will be resumed apart from four-hour extensions since 6.30pm on Friday, and no meaningful offers of compensation.

"There are lots of angry customers on FB and Twitter."

Naomi Brooks said: "My children and I, along with about 3,000 people in my town, have been without TV and WiFi for over 36 hours!

"Please say it's not going to be weeks before it's sorted!

"Kids' Fortnite sleepover is ruined – I'm losing my sanity.

"People of Strood are losing their minds.

"But we are talking to our children, so not all bad."

A Virgin spokesman apologised inconvenience and said the issue was caused by a broken fibre.

He added: "All services have now been repaired and would have been done sooner had it not been for the snow and cold temperatures over the weekend."
