Tory snatches seat at by-election

CONSERVATIVE candidate Seena Williams has been elected as councillor for Shepway South on Maidstone council at a by-election.

It followed the resignation of Labour councillor Anthony Hull.

Cllr Williams won the by-election on Thursday night with 251 votes, ahead of Labour candidate Gill Annan (240), Lib Dem candidate Bryan Charles Vizzard (173) and the Green party’s Stephen Fraser Muggeridge (34).
