Tonbridge have been left with a defensive headache after Gary Elphick became their second centre-back to see red in eight days.

Ollie Schulz begins a three-game suspension for Saturday's game at Boreham Wood following his red card at Bath on February 16.

Elphick, pictured, will join him in the stands next weekend, with the pair set to miss tough away games at Chelmsford and Welling.

Angels boss Tommy Warrilow has spent this week searching for emergency cover as he bids to guide the club away from relegation danger in Blue Square Bet South.

He said: "I’ll do my best to get someone in for those games but we don’t need a player (on loan) for a month. I’ve done the rounds and put markers out to find a non-contract player to play a couple of games on a Saturday and a Tuesday.

Tonbridge lost 2-0 at home to Dorchester last Saturday, with Elphick and visiting defender Charlie Clough given their marching orders. Warrilow had been confident of overturning the red card on appeal but the incident didn’t appear on the match DVD after the battery in the video camera ran out.

Danny Walder should play some part against Wood after missing the Dorchester defeat with an ankle injury.
