Gills defender Joe Martin is confident the team can turn their bad form around.

The Gills are now nine games without a win after yesterday’s Sunday defeat at Coventry.

Martin, speaking before the weekend, said: “We need to find a way of turning those results around, which we will do. It’s just a matter of time.

“The games we have played, if you look at our fixtures, have not been easy. We have played well but the results just haven’t gone our way.

“It goes like that in football. Sometimes winning is easy and then at other times you just can’t win a game.

“Our results don’t tell the full story. We have conceded late goals or at the wrong time or haven’t put away our own chances. All of those things go in bursts and eventually it will go our way.

“The opposition are slightly better but we are better too and it will turn around.

“Sometimes you have to win ugly to get kick-started and I am sure after one win it we will start climbing that table.”
