Sevenoaks-based Trans Global Projects acquires NATCO AG in Zurich, Switzerland, in multi-million pound deal

A logistics firm is throwing its weight around in Europe after acquiring a Swiss rival which specialises in heavy lifting.

Sevenoaks-based Trans Global Projects has bought NATCO AG in a multi-million pound deal, adding to offices it has across five continents.

The Zurich-based business, which has been operating for more than 35 years in industrial projects, is the first acquisition made by the Kent firm.

It will add to Trans Global’s logistical operations for oil and gas, metals and mining, power generation and petrochemical companies.

Trans Global Projects managing director Colin Charnock said: “NATCO’s dedication to providing a high standard of service, combined with its central European location in Switzerland, made the company an excellent choice as our first major acquisition.

“Their European services mirror those we offer on an international platform and we have a common multi-national customer base.

“Our combined expertise and resources will enable us to offer an enhanced service to clients and puts us in strong position for further growth and service development.”

NATCO AG will continue to operate as usual, with re-branding proposed later in the year. The deal was completed on Thursday.
