Man died following police-led incident on the Dartford Crossing

A man has died following a police-led incident on the Dartford Crossing.

Traffic was stopped on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 from junction 31 for Lakeside to junction 1A for Dartford at around 9am this morning (May 7).

The QEII bridge was closed by officers from Essex Police following concerns for a man’s welfare.

All emergency services were in attendance, however, the man died at the scene.

His family are aware.

The bridge was re-opened and traffic was released at around 10.40am.

There were delays of around 90 minutes on the approach and eight miles of congestion.
