Workers originally closed the road between Church Hill and Cripple Hill and put a diversion in place.

However, it has now reopened with temporary two way traffic lights so vehicles can safely pass.

The lights are near Hillfield Villas and are expected to cause delays in the area.

The sinkhole is causing problems for Stagecoach passengers as services to High Halden have been suspended.

In a tweet, the company said: "Buses will divert via Oakhurst Corner - Woodchurch in both directions, service will resume once the road is re-opened, thank you for your patience."
